(Nanda Soobben)
Arts Interactive is an interactive group/gathering of those
interested in the betterment of the Visual Arts.
At their next meeting on September 9, the guest speaker will
be Nanda Soobben.
“Nanda Soobben has again made us Durbanites proud,” says
organiser, artist Nicole Pletts. “His caricature of an electioneering Donald
Trump has gone viral, which has led to him being given an indefinite spot in
British, Swiss and French newspapers and journals, including the Guardian.
“Nanda has been a political cartoonist for 30 years and has
worked and exhibited extensively in North and South America, India as well as South
Africa. He will be giving us an overview of his experiences and the thoughts,
joys and sorrows that make his views on life and politics so relevant. The
lighthearted approach gives the impact that has brought his work to
international attention and acclaim,” she adds.
Arts Interactive will take place on September 9 at 18h00 for
18h30 at Khaya Lembali, 15 Lumsden Crescent, off Peter Mokhaba Road (North
Ridge Road). Parking at the Girl Guide headquarters diagonally opposite.
Tickets R120/head (dinner included). Drinks can be
purchased. RSVP asap for catering purposes to npletts@telkomsa.net
NB: Each Arts
Interactive is specifically catered and pre-ordered – so when patrons cancel

pay for their food.
