The Hilton College Music Department’s next performance in their
Memorable Concerts Series takes place on May 4.
Titled Nightingale,
it will features Laetitia Grimaldi, a French soprano and graduate of the
Juilliard School, New York, and Ammiel Bushakevitz, a South African pianist and
graduate of the Paris Conservatoire.
The programme will consist of favourite works for the voice
and piano, from the German masters and oratorio arias, to romantic French songs
for voice and piano, presented in the style of a belle époque Parisian salon
concert.
Included will be songs of Fauré, Duparc, Debussy,
Canteloube, Hahn, Chausson, Schubert, Schumann, Haydn, Lara and many more. The
first half of the evening will feature local talent Riaan Oosthuizen (tenor),
Elsa Oosthuizen (soprano), and Nathan Julius (sopranist), accompanied by Ammiel
Bushakevitz. The second half will feature Ammiel Bushakevitz and fiancée,
Leatitia Grimaldi.
The concert will take place on May 4 at 18h30 in the Hilton
