The four-concert winter symphony season of
the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra begins on June 1, 2017, in the Playhouse, Anton
Lembede Street, Durban, and so do the pre-concert lectures, which are aimed at
increasing the enjoyment of people attending the concerts.
A late change has been made in the venue
for the concerts, which were originally scheduled for the City Hall. They will
now be given in the Playhouse, as will the lectures, which are organised by the
Friends of Music and the orchestra.
The lectures, which are informative and
entertaining, will be given in the Alhambra Room at the Playhouse, on concert
evenings, starting at 18h00 and ending at 18h40. Drinks and snacks are
available before the start of the concerts at 19h30.
The speakers for this season are: Michael
Green (June 1 and 8); Teddy Pillay (June 15 and 22). Entry is R10.
