It's that time again! The annual end of
year Hexagon Dive Show with Pietermaritzburg’s favourite bunch of singers and
musicians … and this year, it's That Rock n Roll Music! Time to put away the
cares and worries, and relive some awesome music.
Once again for their umpteenth show (we're
not going to say how many in case you work out how old they are!), the cream of
Midlands performers are getting together and doing their favourite Rock n Roll
numbers. Ryan Calder, Daniel Rossouw, Erin Fourie, Sandra Styles, Helen
Vermaak, Katherine McClelland and Tammy Calder are putting on a bumper show
filled with numbers from the good old 50's and 60's days of Rock n Roll, as
well as Rock numbers from the 70's and 80's.
They have chosen their favourite artists
(like Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles among others) and their
favourite Rock songs and put them together in a foot stomping, hand clapping,
singing along format.
From Chuck Berry to Tina Turner, The Everly
Brothers to David Bowie, and Fats Domino to Jethro Tull, the famous and the
infamous are represented! Who remembers Peter Paul and Mary, The Mamas and the
Papas, The Crew Cuts, Huey Lewis and the News, and, of course, a nod to the
king, Elvis Presley.
The show is devised and directed by Peter
Mitchell, with sound design by Marcus Henning.
That
Rock N Roll Music runs at The Hexagon Dive, on the UKZN
Pietermaritzburg campus on December 6 and 7 and again on December 12 and 13,
2019, at 19h00 for 19h30.
These are picnic evenings - bring food, but
