IRABI-UMKHUMBANE JAZZ HERITAGE CELEBRATION

Music legend, Jerry Kunene, the leader of Umkhumbane Jazz Ensemble invites all jazz appreciators, musicians, community and art practitioners from various institutions to come and witness the revival of Irabi Music in concert as the South African Musical Heritage.

This will be presented in celebration of the great achievements by Umkhumbane Jazz Ensemble, Mthobisi Mthalane and Bongani Nkwanyana as the winners of MMIA 2022 (Musical Instrumentalist Awards) held in Durban ICC on November 6, 2022.

The celebration will be an end product of Irabi Jazz Tuition Programme that will be held at The BAT Centre from November 17 to December 2, 2022. Umkhumbane Jazz Ensemble music legends will be facilitating this traditional art tuition programme with focus on the following musical instruments: Saxophones, Trumpets, Accordion, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano/Organ, Drums and Vocals.

Music business masterclass will be zooming into Digital Music Distribution and Monetization.

Celebration Artist Line up: Umkhumbane Jazz Ensemble, Mthobisi Mthalane, Bongani Nkwanyana, Sheila Da Bluenote, MilkyWay, Pat Zondi Impolompolo, Nhlanhla Moletsane and Sifiso Cele.

The celebration will take place at The BAT Centre Executive Restaurant on December 3 from 15h00 till late.
