On
October 11 as part of the New Music Indaba 2013, the trio into will present a
concert of three new works in which music and visual art interact.
Foley Follies is a piece by Jürgen Bräuninger in which
foley footage has been sourced and a musical score written - both have been
given the “into” treatment. The Blind
Leading the Blind consists of a hand-drawn visual score by Zara-Moon Arthur
which directs the musicians in this piece, and Improvisation is a collaborative
journey relying upon synchronicity and chance.
into is
made up of Brydon Bolton (double bass, electronics); Frank Mallows (vibraphone,
percussion) and Zara-Moon Arthur (visuals).
The concert takes
place at 17h30 on October 11. Tickets R50 (R20 students/pensioners, free for NewMusicSA
