Programme:
21h00 – Sandy Elle
Band
Formed in 2021 by drummer Grant Halliday, The Sandy Elle
Band brings together a group of experienced musicians united by friendship and
a shared love of live music. Although its members have established successful
careers as solo performers and musicians across a range of genres, they come
together as a band to create an energetic and versatile live experience.
Fronted by Sandy Elle on vocals and percussion, the line-up
features Grant Halliday on drums, Lance Goldman on lead guitar and vocals, and
Bryan Row on bass and vocals. Drawing on decades of collective musical
experience, the band performs an eclectic mix of classic rock, pop, country,
blues and contemporary favourites.
The Sandy Elle Band is known for its musicianship, harmonies
and strong connection with audiences, bringing live music to venues, festivals,
corporate events and private celebrations.
20h00 – Suits of Armour
Suits of Armour is a South African duo formed in 2023 by
singer-songwriters Melanie Nash and James Robertson. Blending folk, rock,
country and pop, the duo brings together Melanie’s velvet-smooth warmth and
melodic sensibility with James’s gritty, rock-rooted edge.
Following their breakout debut single, Inside Our Pockets, Suits of Armour have continued to develop a
sound built on strong harmonies, heartfelt storytelling and an easy musical
chemistry. Their latest release, Lights
Out, reveals a brighter, more playful side, combining acoustic textures,
driving pop rhythms and country inflections in a carefree anthem about letting
go, being present and enjoying the ride.
With Melanie’s seasoned folk sensibilities and James’s
experience and instinctive storytelling, Suits of Armour deliver music that is
both intimate and anthemic.
19h00 – Howick High Band
Led by Mr Mark Houston since 2016, the Howick High Band is a
dynamic student ensemble featuring guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, flute and
vocals. The current line-up comprises Mark Houston on acoustic, electric and
bass guitar; Rebecca Coetzer on keyboard, flute and vocals; Lothisile Mazeka on
vocals; Sahara Singh on electric guitar; Tryston Willby on drums; Joshua Harris
on keyboard; and Stuart Macaskill on bass guitar.
The band performs lively covers spanning rock, pop and jazz,
bringing youthful energy and enthusiasm to school concerts and community
events. With its line-up evolving each year, the Howick High Band provides a
platform for new musical talent while developing the creativity, confidence and
musicianship of its young performers.
