Durban-raised international pianist Samir Dookie will present a concert on Sunday morning at St Cyprians Anglican Church in Glenwood at 11h00. Dookie has just finished the second year of his degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Dubbed “An exploration of classical and contemporary music from Beethoven to Bohemian Rhapsody”, the vast and eclectic programme includes work by Brahms, Chopin (Nocturnes and Etude); Prokofiev, movie themes (Phantom of the Opera, Jurassic Park), and a pop medley (Elton John, Queen, Billy Joel, Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael Jackson)
St Cyprians Church is located at 603 Umbilo Road. There is free and guarded parking. Tickets at the door (R120 / R100).
