Following last year’s sold-out success, acclaimed performer
Daniel Anderson returns to The Playhouse Company in two extraordinary
productions that showcase his remarkable versatility and magnetic stage
presence.
On May 8, 2026 at 18h00, Anderson reprises his role in Vincent, the three-time Naledi Award-winning musical, accompanied by Paul Ferreira on piano.
This compelling multimedia musical cabaret explores the enigmatic life of Vincent van Gogh, tracing his relentless pursuit of artistic fulfilment and genuine human connection. Through reimagined renditions of musical theatre, pop, rock and jazz classics, Anderson delivers a deeply-moving portrayal that reveals both the vulnerability and brilliance of the iconic artist. From the first note to the final chord, Vincent immerses audiences in a powerful fusion of music, storytelling and visual artistry.
Anderson returns to the stage on May 9, 2026, at 14h00 in The Tramp, a poignant mini-musical that tells the story of Charlie Chaplin through the eyes of his most beloved creation the Little Tramp. Blending humour with pathos, the production reflects on Chaplin’s rise to fame, the symbiotic bond between creator and character, and the betrayal that led to his exile. Through evocative storytelling, music and movement, Anderson brings new depth to this iconic figure, revealing the fragile humanity behind the bowler hat and cane.
